Taking Oil heat Products & Services into the 21st Century
energy conservation and using less oil

Heating, air conditioning, service plans, rewards points—at Dixon, all of them are aimed at increasing your energy efficiency and your customer satisfaction. In our northern NJ energy business, we sincerely believe that you are better served when you purchase less oil or propane from us! It’s so true. When your equipment is running at peak efficiency and your fuel consumption is minimized, we know we’re doing a great job. This is how we best serve you and the planet: working with you so you buy LESS of what we sell. You save money, you are happier, and we all are doing what we can to reduce use.

To that end, we offer service programs to make sure your burner is in tip-top condition. In addition, we will show you how a Honeywell thermostat can set the heat to go on and off at times and temperatures that make sense for you. And how a new, compact, state-of-the-art boiler can cost-effectively replace your old one. For more information about Dixon Energy products and services, please call or e-mail us today.

We take pride in the wide selection of services we provide customers—from Automatic Fuel Delivery that assures you’ll never run out to our Oil Tank Protection Program that provides real peace of mind for your underground storage tank. We offer Annual Tune-Ups for money-saving efficiency and customized Service Plans to help deal with the cost of repairs. We also offer Budget Plans and Pre-Pay Plans, as well as an easy Auto-Charge option on your MasterCard, Visa or American Express Card.

Our company today is the culmination of several generations of providing quality Oilheat and professional service to New Jersey’s Sussex and Morris Counties.

Currently run by sisters Jennifer and Sally Pierson, it all began more than 100 years ago in 1895, when Cyrus Byram Dixon built Boonton’s first icehouse.

It was a successful business that thrived until World War I, when Cyrus’s three sons went off to war. With his sons gone, Cyrus Dixon eventually closed the business down.It wasn’t until many years later, long after Cyrus’s sons returned from the war, in 1919, that they put their heads together and renewed the business.

This time around, a new service was offered and a new name created: Dixon Bros. Wood & Ice. To keep up with the changing times, the brothers eventually shifted the emphasis of the business to coal in 1920 and then again to heating oil in 1926.

Innovation notwithstanding, block ice was an important part of the business until 1945!
